It’s Gonna Be Rough

“At that time Michael, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of great distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people–everyone whose name is found written in the book–will be delivered.” (Daniel 12:1 NIV)

At cruising altitude, the seat-belt sign illuminates and an announcement is heard from the cockpit. “Remain in your seats with trays in the full upright position and seat-belts tightly fastened,” the captain says. “We are flying into some turbulence. It’s gonna get rough.”

The flight had been smooth so what had changed? How does the pilot know the ride is going to become very bumpy? There must be a warning sign. Passengers would be foolish not to trust the flight crew’s message.

Much of the world is experiencing turbulence but one country in particular is in for a difficult ride. The European Union nation of Greece appears headed for economic collapse. Saturday’s overwhelming “No vote” to austerity measures and a bailout plan could signal that a government raid on private bank accounts is in the works. Three questions about the Greek crisis remain but one thing is certain, it is gonna be rough for democracies everywhere when the Athens-based government defaults on its loans and this domino falls.

Recently America has hit some bumps, but nothing compared to what’s coming. The dire warning light started flashing the moment the U.S. Supreme Court announced its decision in favor of recognizing (i.e. legalizing) gay marriage.

Spontaneous celebrations broke out among supporters of the homosexual agenda. Congratulations were extended at the White House. Figuratively-speaking, at the same moment the seat-belt light came on.

God’s people are heeding their Captain’s warnings and are tightening their belts. Marriage was ordained by the One on Heaven’s throne (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). As decreed on Sinai, homosexuality is detestable to our God and invites his wrath (Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:24-27).

Who will survive what’s coming? Will it be those dancing in the aisles or those ready for God’s judgment and a time of great distress? The people who have the most chance, of course, are the wise who heed God’s Word and prepare for the roughest ride ever.

See to it that you do not refuse him who speaks. It they did not escape when they refused him who warned them on earth, how much less will we, if we turn away from him who warns us from heaven? At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken–that is created things–so that what cannot be shaken may remain. (Hebrews 12:25-27 NIV)

We are at the abyss. I am glad you have the courage to speak out because judgment is coming on our nation and on the house of God before he judges the world. We are nearly 14 years from the atrocities of 9/11. Instead of turning to God, a leader of our country quoted Isaiah 9:10 as a way to rally the forces and build up hope. However when we read verses 9 and 11 we see that the rebuilding comes out of pride and arrogance. (Like the Tower of Babel)
God will continue to raise enemiesagainst the US. Iran has recently stated that she will never be friends with the US.

On Sep. 17, 2001, Wall Street had its greatest point drop in history. On September 29, 2008, there was an even greater point drop.
Both dates are the same day of the Hebrew calendar (29 Elul). Both years was the end of a 7 year Jubilee cycle which promises a remission of debt for a nation who follows God and a national economic shaking for a nation who turns from Yahweh. This year, 29 Elul falls on Sep. 13. It is also the 7th cycle of 7 years ending the Jubilee cycle. Will God judge the U.S.? As pastor John wrote, the supreme court decision is our death certificate. God could show mercy but look for Sep. 13 to be the largest single day stock market crash. At sunset on September 17, 2001 , September 29, 2008 and September 13, 2015 the Hebrew calendar began its civil new year with Rosh Hashanah. Not only is this a new moon feast and the feast of Trumpets but it is the day of God’s Judgment.

So wake up America! Repent and turn to Jesus with trembling and awe.

How gracious the Lord would be if he gave us nine more weeks to get our spiritual house in order. No matter how much time we are given, disaster will overtake many like a thief in the night.

Agree that God’s Judgement is coming. The answer is found in 2 Chronicles 7:14. If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.

The promise you cite was made by the Lord through David’s son, King Solomon. It is a conditional blessing belonging to God’s people and involves sincere repentance. “If” implies all conditions must be fulfilled to obtain the desired result (forgive their sin and heal their land).

The reality, as I see it, is we are not governed by godly leaders. They demonstrate characteristics of the wicked, so they cannot repent before a holy God nor fulfill his conditions. Their path leads to destruction and they are taking the nation down with them.

This is of God in order to fulfill prophecy and usher in the Kingdom of His Son. We cannot live under an illusion. It’s gonna be rough.

Thanks for the insightful comment. Glad you are part of the discussion.
