Statement of What We Believe

About Christ-

Jesus Christ, as the Only Son of God, is eternally co-existent with the Father and co-Creator of the universe. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of a virgin. With regard to sin, he was perfect, without sin. Christ offered his life as an atoning sacrifice, paying the full penalty for the sin of humanity through his death on the cross. He demonstrated his power over death by his physical resurrection from the grave. Before he ascended into heaven to sit at the Father’s right hand, he appeared to his disciples and gave them authority to go to all the earth and preach the gospel. As he promised, Jesus will return in the clouds in glory. At his appearing, he will deliver his saints from great distress and enact vengeance on the godless. Then his kingship, as heir to David’s throne, will be established forever over all nations. For a thousand years, during the Millennium, Christ will reign over a physical kingdom of saints. At the end of the Millennium, the Son will hand over his kingdom to his Father. His mission complete, God’s throne in heaven will be established on earth. All prophecy about Christ will then be fulfilled.

About the Holy Spirit-

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity (3 persons in one God).  He was with the Father and the Son at the onset of creation.  Jesus described Him as “streams of living water”. The Holy Spirit created life in the womb of a virgin (Mary) and the Word was made flesh.  He also has a number of roles: messenger, comforter, teacher and bearer of truth for instance. The Holy Spirit has also taken different forms over the course of world history: man, a dove, tongues of fire or streams of living water. The power of the Holy Spirit guided the prophets and also Jesus’ disciples. He will speak through and guide the saints at the end of this age.  Just as the Spirit was instrumental in fulfilling prophecy spoken through Joel at Pentecost (cf. Acts 2), He will do it again in the near future, completing the Near-Far Prophecy of Joel 2:28-32.

About the Church-

The Church is not a building made of stone, but a body made of people, the visible representation of the saints that carry out the Lord’s commands. Principle among our Lord’s commands is to “Go into all the world …” (Matthew 28:18-20). The Church gathers for worship and instruction, but  focuses on completing its mission to take Christ to the world. Historically, the Church has always suffered persecution and tribulation as it engages God’s enemy, Satan.  It will be even more so at the end of this age when the church’s mission is completed. Then all nations will hear the testimony of salvation in Christ (Matthew 24:14). The triumphant Church, represented by a group of 144,000 saints from twelve tribes of Israel, elect and chosen by God, will go to war following their Commander, the One known as “the Word of God”. There, on the battlefield of Armageddon, at the very end of this age, this elite group of warriors will only observe with their eyes and witness the destruction of the wicked.

About the Scriptures-

The Scriptures are the final, complete and perfect word from God to humankind. God used human instruments to write the Bible over a span of more than 1500 years. Each man wrote as he was carried along by the Holy Spirit. In the Scriptures, the Lord reveals himself as Sovereign Ruler, Creator, and Truth. The scriptures contain his commandments and they are not burdensome. Unique among the so-called holy books of world religions, the Scriptures alone are able to make us wise unto salvation. All prophetic truth, although sometimes hidden is contained in Scripture. The Lord manifests his absolute sovereignty over all the affairs of men by revealing (announcing through his prophets) everything he is going to do before it springs into being (Isaiah 42:9, Amos 3:7).

About Salvation-

Salvation is God’s gift of eternal life as an act of God’s grace. The Lord delights in salvation. It is God’s will that all men everywhere are saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. He does not delight in the death of the wicked. Principle among the titles for God is Savior. Salvation is what he carries out by his strong right hand. The wicked are those who reject God’s salvation and turn to gods of their own making to save them. The plan of salvation was first revealed to Adam and Eve after they sinned in the garden. More and more details of this salvation were revealed in Scripture to make the Bible student wise. The work of salvation is centered on Jesus death on the cross. For all who believe, near the end of this age God’s salvation will be made manifest for the saints at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ when they are gathered to meet our Savior and King in the air. Salvation will be complete when those whose names are in the book of life see the New Jerusalem coming down as a bride from heaven. Then the dwelling of God will be with men—the ultimate salvation.

About the Rapture-

The rapture, or the gathering up of God’s people to meet the Lord in the air, is a future event guaranteed by God (Matthew 24:30-31, 1st Thessalonians 4:13-18). We support the pre-wrath rapture view. Close examination of Scripture reveals the rapture follows a period of unparalleled distress for God’s people. This distress will be initiated at the mid-point of the 70th week of Daniel. We believe the rapture will occur during the 6th year of the 70th week. Before the elect are overtaken, Christ will rescue them. The redeemed will meet the Lord in the air; then return with Christ to serve as his kingdom and priests when all is fulfilled for this age. The rapture is to be distinguished from the resurrection of the righteous in that the rapture is a rescue or deliverance and resurrection is a transformation (Matthew 24:29-30, Revelation 7:14). While the rapture is near the end of this age, the general resurrection of the righteous is at the end of the Millennium. Contrary to popular Christian teaching, the general resurrection will not take place until the last day of the 1000-year reign of Christ, or at the last trumpet at the end of the age to come.

 About the Saints-

The saints are those who constitute God’s people. Saints are either past or present with respect to their physical state. Present saints are alive and living on the earth. Past saints are alive but have earned their rest. Their fight is over. The saints (past) make up a great cloud of witnesses who testify to saints (present) on matters related to faith’s reward. Saints, also referred to as the elect (present), will be gathered up by angels, along with their families, to meet Jesus at His Coming. They will join the saints (past) in the clouds; then they will descend to surround the Lamb’s throne as an innumerable host from every nation, tribe, people and language. Saints all have one thing in common: They believed God and it was credited to them as righteousness. Their righteousness was and is by faith, from first to last. When they see Jesus, their faith will be sight. The saints have passed from death to life.

 About the Age to Come-

The soon coming age that follows the present age is popularly known as the Millennium (i.e. the 1000-year reign of Christ). As was the Promised Land for the Israelites leaving Egypt, the age to come is a promised reward of peace and land for those who demonstrate belief and faithfulness during severe hardship. The wicked will be destroyed but lands and nations will be preserved. Those who remain loyal to Christ in the coming days will be given authority in the next age. There will be no more devil or demons; no more wars or sickness or violence; no more dangers or pre-mature death. King Jesus will have the government on his shoulders. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, the Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace. Life spans will resemble those of the first age. The lion will lie down with the Lamb. Worship will be perfected. God’s promise to Abraham will be fulfilled; his descendants will be like the stars or like the sands of the seashore. The age to come will not be heaven but far closer to paradise than anything in this present age outside a local fellowship of saints. At the end of the age to come, carnal men will mount a rebellion against the Holy One. They will be stirred to revolt by Satan at his release after a thousand years. The purpose will be to test everyone in the last age, so that the righteous may have their names written in the books opened at the judgment that follows.

Your passion and insights to God’s word needs to be taken seriously by all. We are entering a time when we need to be prepared for the times that we are in. That was the message of Jesus and His disciples. We must have a servant’s attitude and an overcomer’s spirit. Our Lord will give us his strength, grace and wisdom and he will make us Fishers of Men, if we but follow. Your teachings and your books demonstrate all of these attributes. Like you have said before, you embrace the opportunity to serve Jesus in these tough times. God’s kingdom was meant for those who don’t rely on their own greatness, but on God’s majesty. We must have Faith in who Yahweh is and know that He will empower us to endure, instead of seeking an easy way out.

Congratulations on Lifesaver coming out. This is a terrific book. The examples you use from your life really help to illustrate your points. The Scriptural references support each Torpedo. The book is well written and anyone who truly reads this with an open mind will find out how valuable Lifesaver is. God Bless You.

Congratulations on adding the “Statement of What We Believe” in the “About” section of this blog. I know it will help visitors understand what “The Prophets of God” represents as well as who we are. It is well-written. For those who might disagree with some part of the statement, we welcome the opportunity for a back and forth discussion

This site is about understanding who Yahweh is–as much as it is humanly possible. We come to know God by seeking Him in our lives, in our hearts and in our spirit through His Word.
