Biblical prophecy

“Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.” (Revelation 6:11 NKJV).

The entire history of this age will soon be written. While many attempt to pacify the fearful, the wise are taking note of God’s signs. Modern pastors reassure their unsettled flocks with the promise Jesus will return “prior to” Antichrist’s appearance. “Peace and safety” are implicit. Their sheep repeat: “Great Tribulation is coming, but thank God I won’t be around to see it!”

Satan has deceived many so-called “Bible-believing” Christians into declaring “any moment Jesus will come and we’ll escape.” Can Christ come on any given day or will he arrive on a set day with accompanying signs in the sky? Does resurrection occur, as they say, while we are taken up in the rapture? And what of all the unfulfilled signs?

There are definite signs for which we need to look. In 2nd Thessalonians, we have lots of signs. Paul reminded his former students what he had taught. As a fellowship they had swallowed the false teaching the Day of the Lord had come and gone. The Apostle was clear: This day cannot come until the apostasy (the falling away or rebellion) occurs (cf. Matthew 24:10) and the man of sin is revealed (2:3). The man of sin or son of perdition will take his seat in the temple of the LORD claiming to be God (2:4) (In Part 1, we discussed this sign’s fulfillment at the 70th week’s midpoint.)

We learn in Revelation 13 that at the 42-month mark, the Antichrist will be revealed by demanding universal worship. Those who resist him will be forced to take the beast’s mark. This sets the stage for our sign of the end.

God’s people will stand firm in their resistance. Those remaining true despite the beast’s power are spoken of in Revelation 12:11“They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death” (NIV).

God’s resisters are a major sign of the end. Saints always oppose the beast, even to the death. For some, their refusal to take the beast’s mark will cost their head (Rev. 20:4). These martyrs are the souls heard under the altar when the 5th seal is opened (Rev. 6:9). Together they appeal for vengeance (i.e. the Day of the Lord’s Judgment). They are comforted with a promise that God will bring the wicked to justice, but only after the full number of their brothers are likewise slain (Rev. 6:10-11).

This will be a sign of Christ’s coming. Once the last martyr sheds his blood, then the beast’s power will be broken. The beast’s last publicly guillotined saint will set off a series of prophesied signs that directly precede Jesus’ coming in the clouds.

In 2015 a live video feed picked up radical black-clothed Muslims beheading faithful Christians. This is a “can’t miss sign”. It presents evidence of how close we are to the end. Those serving Antichrist will make an example of elect martyrs. Those who hold to the testimony of Jesus and obey God’s commands are already being decapitated.

Prepare now. When the full number of the faithful lose their heads, then look to the east. Redemption will be drawing nigh. EJ.

Question 10- How important do you feel it is that people read The Prophets of God?

Answer 10- It couldn’t be more important. This is salvation we are talking about and what is more important than that? We are close to a time of great deceit. We will be surrounded by wolves in sheep’s clothing—perhaps even angels declaring another gospel—and most are unprepared. God will send his prophets but many will refuse to hear their message because they won’t be cool or charismatic. Many will perish because they believe the lie. What I have written is not an exhaustive study on what is about to take place, but it gives everyone something big they need to think about. I hope others will come along and pick up the subject and take it further into the Word.

Question 4- Why write The Prophets of God? What are you saying that other prophecy books have not said?

Answer 4- A few years ago, I was motivated to do a teaching seminar on “Prophets” based on a growing conviction that what we have in American Christian culture with the prophet label is quite different than what we see in Scripture. Elijah, Jeremiah, John the Baptist and Jesus are prophets. I developed an interest in the subject and then the insights came. One revelation was that before Jesus returns, he will send his prophets, forerunners like John the Baptist, to prepare the way for Christ. Prophets will expose the false prophets and priests for the phonies they are. We already have an invasion of false prophets in our day. Soon we will see God counter-attack with the true prophets of God. If there is another guide on this subject out there, I am not aware of it.

Question 3: What are some of the fictions—myths as you call them—that you expose?

Answer 3: The one that comes to my mind first is that prophecy supports the notion that believers will be divinely delivered from an intense period of suffering, we call the Great Tribulation. It is a myth. Ask fellow believers in oppressive countries or areas of Africa, Asia and even South and Central America. I do not expose this as a myth—as you say–or other views that remove God’s people from the hot furnace of affliction, I let the words of Christ and his prophets do that. Another one that I call attention to is that not everyone who claims to be a Christian teacher or preacher—who is committed to the Bible and to following Jesus as Lord—is accurately portraying future events. (I am not questioning motives but motive is not the issue. Truth is.) What God intends to do this year and beyond is a matter of utmost importance. Most church-goers are getting it wrong from their leaders in the pulpit, on their TV and in their books of prophecy. To make matters worse, they are not encouraged to read and study the prophets for themselves. This is a major problem with severe consequences if it continues.

The writers and staff at theprophetsofgod.com have been busy. We are working hard to publish accurate and insightful written material and media to better equip the saints for what’s ahead. Lifesaver: Rescuing God’s People from the PTR Ship was released in early April. Available soon in paperback will be the 2nd Edition of The Prophets of God. This readable study of Biblical prophets was originally published in 2011. This new edition has a revised format and an added feature that we think will help and challenge readers even more.

Why a Second Edition? Our main reason was to make The Prophets of God available at Kindle, Nook, ePub and iTunes bookstores. For those with electronic readers, we are pleased to announce that this Biblical call to “Recognize, Listen to and Follow” true prophets can soon be purchased at a bargain price. Paperback or electronic, it’s a great deal either way.

Those with a first edition copy need not be concerned; the content of The Prophets of God has not been altered. We made improvements, not changes. Changes are not possible when the commitment is to interpret the Word of God with integrity and absolute accuracy.

As you see by the previous post, this blog will have a “Discussion” on The Prophets of God in hopes that it will re-ignite interest in the soon-to-arrive anointed messengers of the Lord. Take the opportunity to purchase it, then share this valuable resource with others as hungry for truth as you are.

Question: Lifesaver is not the first book you have written. You are writing a series of books, of which ‘Lifesaver’ is the third. Tell us more about the inspiration behind your other two books.

Answer: The other books are parts of a series I call “The Prophets, Priests and Kings Series”. I started with an inspired thought and no clue what I was getting into. After a couple months of writing on this theme I had over 600 typewritten pages and had barely touched on the subject of kings in the Bible. I had visions of this big, fat book that no one would want to read. I was depressed and too discouraged to go on for about a week. But then a little voice spoke to me most likely in the shower. That’s where I hear a lot of things from God. Anyway, the voice simply said, “You have three books, not one!” Such a simple thought, but it solved my dilemma and energized me.

So, it was not long after I was back to work on P, P & K that I realized I needed an introduction. That was why I wrote “The People of God”. It was my belief that the first book is necessary to get the most out of the others in the series.

My original motivation for writing was the subject of prophets. It fascinated me no end. I thought we were missing it as to who prophets were and what they did. It is still one of my favorite subjects. I just love “The Prophets of God”. I’m crazy about the content in all my books, but especially that one. I strongly sense God wants these books written. Why he chose me to do it is a mystery, but I feel privileged.

Question 12- What would you like readers of Lifesaver to take away from the experience?

Answer 12-I hope that they’d say the book was fair. I hope they appreciate the objective way I presented my case with Scripture. I hope they realize after reading Lifesaver that truth matters. I hope they can see that Christians can disagree without making the other side out to be villains. I hope they can process everything and be able to take a stand against popular opinion. And, I guess, I want them to know if a brother or sister supports the “any moment rapture” position, it doesn’t mean they have horns. It only means they do not fully understand what the Bible teaches or correctly interpret prophecy–therefore, they are in trouble of being deceived.

Question 11: The world, our country, and our leaders seem to be falling apart around us. At times, it appears the tribulation period is just around the corner. What are your thoughts on that?

Answer 11: My view on that is based on reading the Bible and studying history. The world is falling apart because we are fast approaching the time of the end and, yes, it is just around the corner. The world is also falling apart because Christians have lost their saltiness or influence with respect to culture, politics, morality, community, respect for life, and all the rest. We have the leadership we deserve. Chaos is on the way.

Tribulation happens in the natural course of things when we act like the Church is supposed to act. Trials come when we invade Satan’s territory and set his prisoners free. Tribulation is a good sign that we are doing something of relevance to God and to the devil. If we are persecuted, it means we are on the attack. Read Jesus, Peter and Paul on this subject.

The Church in Laodicea did not suffer the same tribulation as Smyrna and Philadelphia. Why not? Because they were self-centered, self-satisfied, prosperous and compromising, that’s why. Jesus expressed how worthless they were by saying he was about to spit them out of his mouth.

In general, Laodicea then is how we in America and other Western nations are today. We have largely given the world a false Jesus. The Jesus we have marketed wants us all to be healthy, wealthy, sitting in church on Sunday and passive. We will soon see the real Jesus in all his glory. Judgment will begin on the household of God, and for those who profess the name of Christ, it won’t be pretty. That is coming before the Tribulation, by the way.  Expect this soon!

Question 9: The Bible gives hope, indeed, but what is hopeful about experiencing the tribulation?

Answer 9: That is a good question and one that we need to thoroughly grasp. Viktor Frankl, the Nazi holocaust survivor who wrote, “In Search of Meaning,” gave good insight from his horrific experience. He said something like, “When we find meaning in our suffering, it is then no longer suffering.” Besides the testing of our love and loyalty to Christ, tests demonstrate that we are genuine and belong among the people of God. There is rich meaning to be found in tribulation. It refines us like gold. It allows us to participate in the sufferings of Christ. Tribulation takes away our love for this world; it allows us to do good deeds and express our love for our fellow man, even for our enemies.

Peter wrote that we should not think of our suffering as though something strange was happening to us. Paul and the apostles taught the disciples outside of Lystra, where he was stoned and left for dead. Their message was in Acts 14:22, “We have to go through many tribulations to enter the kingdom of God.”

I could go on and on. Largely, because of the PTR influence we have not connected with members of our Christian family who suffer in our day. We often fail to see reality. We live in denial. The signs are unmistakable. The U.S. and the West will soon experience a persecution of all those who claim Jesus as their Savior like we cannot imagine.

We desperately need to develop a “theology of suffering” because the Scriptural teaching is rich on this subject. We need the mind of God about it because we are soon going to face it. Pre-tribulationalism is escapism. It is a place for those to go and listen to what their itching ears want to hear.

I have to add that what gives suffering meaning and therefore makes it something to embrace rather than avoid is that it is the way to honor and please God and gain eternal life. It is not simply talking the talk; it is walking the walk the saints have long trod.

Question 8: So what you are saying then, is that those supporting the Pre-Tribulation Rapture look for scriptures to support their view, rather than searching the scriptures for what is actually there?

Answer 8: Yes, you nailed it! That’s what not only Pre-tribbers do but other Christian ideologues do on a host of pet subjects. That’s how we get the cult spin-off groups.

I have made it a point to tell my students, that if you start out with a wrong assumption, you cannot come to a correct conclusion. That’s where this is at. I saw this repeatedly in the writings or statements of Pre-Tribbers. They begin at the wrong starting place and go from there with cleverly crafted scenarios. Sincere students, those who are teachable, are susceptible because they trust teachers who love the Lord and sound knowledgeable about Scripture. Prophecy is still future so we think, “Who are we to say; they could be right.” If we would be more like the Bereans and listen intently to what our teachers give us from the Bible, then go back and examine it critically for ourselves to see if it is true, we would not have the differences we have in the church.

I was surprised by how easy this book was to write. Coming up with Biblical arguments that dismantled PTR suppositions or starting points was not difficult. It helps that I did not just destroy. I had something valid to replace the false. Truth always gives hope.
